How MLAB came to be…

I have always loved carving workable spaces out of nothing.  It all started when I was young; we moved almost every other year and I looked forward to creating new environments with  scraps of materials I had salvaged from my mother’s sewing room.

Since then, I’ve created several material resource libraries and I am very proud of my latest.  I envisioned the Pensole Footwear Academy to be a unique resource that not only provided students with up to date material sources in footwear, apparel & equipment, but also a place that would provide them with access to industry vendors who could mentor and introduce innovation early on in the creative process.

The MLab was created in January of 2012 – it coexists as this resource while also providing a space for my design consulting company- Hangers and Lasts.  The exciting and unforeseen surprise  was when we realized that the MLAB had also morphed into an amazing trend center.  Upon this realization, the natural step was to set up a global platform and share the wealth of inspirations information we come into contact with everyday.

You, our readers and contributors, will be introduced to industry leaders from all over the world.  You will be offered an opportunity to build your own network and toolbox to maneuver around the design world.  We are dedicated to sharing information that we come into contact with every day, and all you have to do is participate.  We hope that  you enjoy Hangers and Lasts and share our site with your friends.

Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions on how we can help to gather information that you would like to read about.

Always,

Suzette Henry.
